Perfect for Fall and Spring New England Skiing

Fits well over a Nano Puff Jacket and helmet. Zipper follows my neck contour and completely blocks wind, sleet, freezing rain and snow, especially with a neck gaiter, when fully zipped. Pit zips are wonderful on warm days. Slightly looser than some Patagonia shells around hips.

Great shell

I use this shell for touring in Lake Tahoe, as I needed a red shell for SAR. So far this season it has held up very well, and proven to be very waterproof and windproof, and when skinning uphill in a storm or hiking, I am able to open the pit zips and dump heat effectively as well. The oversized fit is great and fits easily and comfortably over a baselayer, fleece, and puffy. I am 5'3" 125lbs and a size small is great. I do wish the hood was slightly bigger to more comfortably fit over a helmet. I find I often keep it down even in a storm as otherwise I can't freely turn my head. I also wish it had an arm pocket like my PowSlayer shell (which I think is the best shell ever made by the way, it just wasn't available in red or I would have gotten that instead). Overall a great shell.

Amazing jacket for all types of terrain

I love this jacket - I use it for rainy weather in the city, snowboarding, and hiking/camping. The Goretex shell protects you from all weather elements and is truly wind and waterproof. I layer the Down Sweater underneath this when I snowboard and it keeps me warm but still allows me to move in all sorts of ways. I recently replaced this since the goretex was defective and the shoulder seems seeping in water. Patagonia truly stands by their Ironclad warranty and I got a replacement jacket with no hassle. To the folks at Patagonia, thank you for doing what you do. Truly one of the best customer service and warranty service is best in class.

Great shell; wish Patagonia made petites

Purchased this to go with teal ski pants Patagonia had this year and it is the perfect match with the zippers being the same color as the pants. I had purchased a different lined jacket but then returned it when I found this one in a store - I just prefer an unlined shell as it turns out. I just wish Patagonia (or someone!) made petite-size shells. The arms are way too long to the point that I'm going to look into getting them tailored (an added cost for a not-cheap shell), and the length of the jacket is a bit long although I can live with that. Otherwise it fits great, it is definitely very windproof but haven't had the chance to test the waterproof-ness.

Rainwear

I purchased this item for my girl and she loves everything about it. She is not easy to please which means this jacket is well designed, exceptionally well made, great fit and finish, and the color is superb.
